In Demand Jobs in Japan for Filipinos

First things first, you need to know what are the in demand jobs in Japan and if any of it is applicable to your experience. It is important that you apply for a job you are familiar with as most companies require a year or two of experience. Below is a list of the in demand jobs in Japan for Pinoys:

English Teacher and Translators

This includes teaching English to Japanese kids, teens and even businessmen. Most companies prefer applicants with a college degree, at least 2 years of work experience and are 22 years old and above.

For those who can speak Japanese fluently, Japanese companies are in need of applicants at least 25 years old, with 1 year of related experience and have a college degree.

Service Staff

Japan is also in need of service staff that includes female entertainers, caregivers, and housekeepers. The average salary for working 8 hours a day for this profession is about 70,000 pesos and above with overtime pay.

Companies with vacancies for this position requires candidates with at least a High School diploma and a year of related work experience.

Blue Collar Jobs and Factory Worker

From machine operator, carpenters, automotive mechanic, insulators, pipe fitters, and construction workers, Japan is in need of men who are not afraid to get their hands dirty. There are two options to do this, one is to apply through an agency or directly apply to a company abroad. The first choice is easier and faster because all agencies already have a contact in Japan who are looking for Filipino workers. The second option is a little harder to do but can be rewarding once you find a good company to sponsor you.

Applying through a Manpower Agency

There is two Philippine-based website that provides a list of job vacancies in Japan that are open for Filipinos. These are:

  • workabroad.ph
  • poea.jobstreet.com.ph

Just visit the two websites and submit an application to position related to your experience.

Applying directly to a Company

Now this option can be a bit tricky. But with a bit of perseverance, you should be able to find work directly to a company. Below is a list of sites you can check:

IMPORTANT REMINDERS:

  • Remember that a legitimate agency will not ask any fee from you to process your application.
  • Always double check with POEA the agency you are applying to see if they are licensed manpower agency.
  • If you are seriously looking for a work in Japan, why not start studying the Japanese language in advance. In this way, you get a good headstart once your training starts.
  • Don’t worry if you do not know how to speak Japanese, most companies will provide a 2-month training (for free!) before they send you a ticket to Japan.
  • Working visa processing will also be sponsored by the company who wishes to hire you so don’t worry about that too.
