Buying a House Now as Low as 1,897 Pesos a Month with Pag-IBIG Affordable Housing Program
As of February 14 of 2018, Pag-IBIG members can already take advantage of the Affordable Housing Program. With this program, borrowers will be able to avail loans at a much lower and fixed interest rate. Best of all is that its open to minimum wage earners or to anyone who doesn’t earn more than 17,500 pesos a month.
Advantages of Pag-IBIG Affordable Housing Program
The main objective of this program is to allow low-income employees to minimum wage earners to purchase their own home through a loan from Pag-IBIG. And unlike non government loan program, Pag-IBIG offers low interest rate that is payable for a maximum of 30 years.
So for instance, you are loaning for a home with a value of 450,000 pesos, you only need to pay 1,897 pesos each month for the first 5 years of your loan as illustrated in Pag-IBIG’s website.
How to Apply for Pag-IBIG Affordable Housing Loan Program?
- This program is open to all members of Pag-IBIG, including OFWs who have made at least 24 monthly savings. As an alternative, members can pay the 24 month savings inlump sum.
- A member must also have a monthly gross income not over 17,500 pesos and have no existing loan accounts in Pag IBIG. This includes foreclosed, cancelled or bought back due to default accounts through Pag-IBIG.
- The member must also have the legal capacity to acquire or purchase a real property. At the same time, the member must pass a background and credit check by Pag-IBIG Fund.
- Member must also be not over 65 years old
How to Apply for the Affordable Housing Loan Program of Pag-IBIG?
To apply for the program, you no longer need to visit any of their branches to schedule an appointment as its available online. All you need to schedule the appointment through Online Housing Loan Applicationor OHLA at http://www.pagibigfund.gov.ph/HousingLoan.
Make sure your Pag-IBIG membership identification number or MID is ready or Temporary Identification number, for new Pag-IBIG applicants, is ready as it will be asked as you apply. You will then be given a unique reference number which is your tracking number for your application.
You will be asked to complete an online form and receive an email upon submission. The email will include your schedule and the address of Pag-IBIG office that you need to visit.
