Valentine’s Day Ideas: 15 Near Manila Destinations
Since Valentine’s day is less than a month away, couples must now plan where and how they should spend the most romantic day of the year. If you’re one of the lucky ones who don’t need to do work on that day, why not enjoy a short trip out of town. It doesn’t need to be an overnight vacation as there are many destination just a couple of hours away from Manila that you can visit.
Just 3 to 4 hours away from Manila is Anilao, Batangas where you can enjoy various water sport activities. This includes scuba diving, kayaking, fish feeding and a lot more. A day tour usually costs 990 pesos which already includes welcome drinks and lunch. If you’re not into water sports, you can just dip into their pool and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Subic is not only the home of the famous Zoobic Safari, where you can get close encounters with tigers and crocodiles, but also where you can experience hardcore water sports, go on a hike, and have a meal in the popular steak house Meat Plus. Its just a 3 hour drive from Manila and you can bring along your family or go on a group date when visiting the said attractions.
Unbeknownst to many, Pangasinan now has a Sunflower Maze which is a huge botanical garden filled with Sunflowers. The entrance fee is only 40 to 60 pesos and can be reached by riding a bus heading to Urdaneta. This is followed by a UV express to Tayug and a tricycle to the maze.
Pampanga is much closer to Manila compared to Subic so it’s a good choice if you’re looking for something very near the metro. It features Alviera’s Sandbox which is a 2 hectare adventure destination with numerous activities you can do with your couple, Sky Ranch which is a franchise of Tagaytay’s Sky Ranch and Dinosaur Park which is ideal if you are visiting with kids.
What used to be an 8 hour travel is now a 4 hour drive from Manila. Baguio is known for its flower farms, haunted houses, the long stairs to Lourdes’ Grotto and of course its good but cheap food. For a Valentine’s day date we highly recommend dining in at Batirol, Forest Lodge, Manor, Sage and Hill Station.
Tagaytay has been a common choice to many couples during Valentine’s day so if you decide to visit the city – be prepared. Traffic is unavoidable and most restaurants may be jam-packed. But if this is your first choice, why not spend a day in a cozy hotel with a kitchen and cook dinner for your partner. One of our favorite hotel in the city with a great view is Summit Ridge where you can get a discount if you are a member of Robinson’s card.
A new but meaningful date you can do is go Church hopping with your couple. There are literally hundreds of Church just outside Manila or in the metro that you can visit which are known for their history and even miracles. Especially if you are very thankful and happy with your partner, why not make this year’s Valentine’s Day a special one and spend it with God.
