How to Get Passport Online: Step by Step Guide to Apply for a Passport Philippines (Part 4)
The next step in this How to Get Passport Online guide is what you need to do on the day and say on your appointment.
- The first thing you need to do is double check your requirements and make sure you got everything with you. If you leave one by accident, you will be asked to come back at a given date. This is regardless if you have a photocopy of the requirement with you. They need the original and the original alone.
- Make sure you also arrive on time because the guard will check your application form upon arrival. If your time has passed, you will not be allowed to go in. If you’re too early, you will not be allowed inside either. You can go inside at least 30 minutes before your schedule.
- Don’t sign the application form yet from the DFA website. You will be asked to sign it in the office. For that reason, you will also need a ballpen with you.
- Bring some reading materials or make sure you have the internet because the line is really long.
Now when it’s your time to go to the counter, just present all your requirements and wait for them to complete the verification of your documents. If you’re approved, you will be asked to go to the next step which is the picture and the signing part. If your application is denied, you will be asked to submit more requirements and come back another day.
For Philippine passport renewal applicants, the chances of a declined application are very minimal so there is nothing to worry about. The only reason that your application is denied is if you don’t have enough valid ID which happened to me twice btw.
When you get to the next step, you will also be asked to pay. The receipt will be taken from you when you get to step three which will then inform you when your passport will be ready. You can opt to have it delivered to your house or for pick up. If you choose home delivery, you need to be home when the passport is ready because they will not give it to anyone.
And that is how you get your very own Philippine passport. 🙂 Enjoy your trip abroad!
